History

5 GENERATIONS OF FAMILY FARMING - John and Anna left Oslov, Bohemia for the U.S. in about 1890.  They and their family eventually settled in Jerauld County in 1905 purchasing the 80 acres that is still today the main farm of the operation.

Their son, Martin Kolousek and his wife Theresa then lived on the farm with their 8 children.  

One of their children, Peter Kolousek and his wife, Ione ran the farm after he returned from service in WWII and they raised their 7 children on the farm.

Pete and Ione's sons, Richard (wife Janet) and Raymond (wife Rita) raised their families and ran the farm in a partnership with Peter until Peter retired in the 1990s.  Raymond passed away in 2003.

Today, Richard (Dick) and his son, Scott and his wife, Amber, operate Kolousek Farms as the 4th and 5th generation in their family farm.
